Acclivity is part of the program management team led by Booz Allen Hamilton for FEMA’s Risk Mapping, Assessment, and Planning (MAP) program. Staff assists FEMA Regions and Headquarters in improving performance and delivery of multiple programs within the FEMA Risk Analysis Division. Five Acclivity staff provide onsite support as Regional Program Managers in three FEMA Regional offices located in Seattle, Denver, and Chicago. Will Meyer serves as the Regional Director and Julie Baxter previously served as program management support lead for the Risk Assessment Program, Mitigation Planning Program, and strategic planning support for FEMA Region IX Risk Analysis Branch. Tasks involve developing communication and outreach materials, facilitating meetings, program planning, and tracking program performance and metrics.

CO-NM Regional Extreme Precipitation Study

Acclivity serves as project manager for the Colorado-New Mexico Extreme Precipitation Study sponsored by the Colorado Water Conservation Board, Colorado Division of Water Resources, and the New Mexico Office of the State Engineer. The primary end product of this analysis for the dam safety programs of the two States will be an update of extreme precipitation estimates based on defensible and modern meteorological science for evaluating dam spillway adequacy. The project seeks to develop an accepted standard of practice for these studies to be used as a national model. Acclivity coordinates the technical tasks of meteorological consultants and researchers and the peer review process of a Project Review Board consisting of federal agency experts. Project management tasks also include planning and facilitating six, three-day stakeholder workshops, developing the final report and a standard of practice document, and managing the project schedule, action items, progress tracking, reporting, and documentation over a two-year period.
